Fritters with yogurt - Uštipci sa jogurtom
Fritters are a traditional dish in the Balkans which look and taste like donuts, although its consistency is more similar to bread. There are many kinds of fritters, those that are made with yogurt and the ones that are made with the yeast. Can be served as savory appetizer with Kajmak (traditional Balkan cream cheese) and Ajvar (chutney of red roasted peppers and eggplant) or sweet as a dessert with jam.
For the fritters with yogurt is necessary:
-550g flour
-400ml yogurt
-3 eggs
-1.5 Teaspoon salt
-1 Baking powder
Preparation:
Whisk the eggs, add salt to taste, pour the yogurt and mix everything nicely. Gradually add the sifted flour with baking powder and stir until you have a smooth, lump free consistency. Leave a bowl of prepared mixture aside until the oil is heated. Place the fritters with a spoon and fry them over a medium heat until they get golden and crispy. Serve them while they're still warm with sauces you desire.
-400ml jogurta
-3 jajeta
